FSSAI Registration for Petty Food Business

WHAT IS THE REGISTRATION PROCESS UNDER FSSAI?



The registration is done for petty food business operators having annual turnover upto Rs. 12 lakhs, if someone they have turnover of more than Rs. 12 lakhs per annum then they have to get a License. Food Business Operators (FBOs) can get Food Safety and Standard Authority of India registration done by filling and submitting the FSSAI registration form i.e. Form A (application for Registration) which is available on the Food Safety Compliance portal (FoSCoS). The Food Business Operators can also register themselves by submitting Form A directly to the Food Safety and Standard Authority of India head office.



The Food Safety and Standard Authority of India registration form should be attached with the required document. The required documents should be uploaded on the Food Safety Compliance portal while filling the application online or it should be submitted to the Food Safety Authority with the application physically.


The registration form will be either accepted or rejected by the Authority within 7 days from the date of the receipt of the application in physical or in online mode through the portal. If the application is rejected then the applicant will be informed in writing.


The Authority will inspect the documents submitted by the applicant and may conduct an inspection of the food premises prior to granting the FSSAI registration certificate.


When the Authority is satisfied that the Food Business Operators have fulfilled the criteria required, then it will provide the FSSAI registration certificate with the registration number and the photo and email ID. The applicant can get the registration certificate by downloading it from the Food Safety Compliance portal or through the link received on their registered email/ contact number.
